Marketing Coordinator

Description

The position will have primary responsibility for establishing and managing the brand of the College, enhancing the reputation, promotion and visibility of the College to local audiences as well as researching, writing and editing feature stories, press-releases, articles, and news items for the website, print and e-publications. This position will also have the responsibility of generating valid inquires who are prospects for enrollment at the college.

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following key responsibilities

Enhancing the Reputation, Promotion and Visibility of the College
• Identify and attend appropriate career and community fairs and events to generate weekly inquiries from enrollment at the college.
• Work with management to enhance and extend the College’s brand through all media to promote core values and attributes.
• Serve as the liaison to between the community and the College
• Prepare, edit and post press releases, media advisories, campus announcements, etc.
• Organize and promote open houses and events to generate inquires for enrollment at the college.
• Develop relationships with local businesses and organizations to enhance the image of the College.

Weekly Analysis and Inquiry Flow
• Collaborate with Director of Admissions to monitor inquiry flow and effectiveness as well as identify areas of opportunity and growth for recruitment.
• Analyze and monitor walk-in, phone and web traffic and indentify areas of opportunity and growth for the recruitment.

Researching, Writing and Editing for Websites and Print/E-Publications
• Actively manage and oversee the college website.
• Research, write edit and distribute all College print and e-publications.
• Create and distribute special event fliers, posters, certificates, and other collateral materials for College    events.
• Create copy and strategy for effective direct mail, email and print campaigns.

Establishing, Integrating and Managing the Brand of the College
• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy and social marketing plan that focuses on short-term and long-term strategies, tracks trends, and benchmarks against similar institutions.
• Track the College’s social reach and reputation using available online tools.
• Work to develop the College merchandize.

Qualifications
This is a management and leadership position within the College and requires significant prior experience and successful track record with the varied responsibilities of the position listed above.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree.
Experience: Three years of proven and successful experience in outreach, event planning, writing, editing, marketing, social media for business purposes, communications, web communications, and public relations. In addition, this individual will have proven expertise in the professional use of social media (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn), the internet, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Dean of Academics

Description

The Dean of Academics is responsible for the academic curriculum of the institution, providing leadership to the faculty and managing the processes through which teaching is conducted and administered at Mt. Sierra College. The Dean insures that the curriculum appropriately reflects the mission of the campus and that it is as current as possible in terms of disciplines, technology, delivery, and oversees the hiring and training of educational faculty and staff.

Key Job Elements
  • Working closely with the President/Director, contribute to and implement the Institutional Vision of the College, and insure that the Educational Philosophy is executed;
  • Supervise all matters relating to curriculum and instruction in the College, including outreach and extension courses, online courses, and scheduling;
  • Oversee faculty and academic staff recruitment and development activities;
  • Work with Department Chairs to evaluate faculty, assess classroom effectiveness, and correct observed deficiencies through training, counseling, or disciplinary action;
  • Coordinate periodic academic program review and work with Department Chairs in the review, study, and development of curriculum and in the improvement of instruction;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President/Director;
  • Provide leadership in the development of the College’s Distance Education program;
  • Develop relationships and articulation agreements with related industries, businesses, colleges, universities and high schools;
  • Perform administrative tasks such as budget control and processing requests for information regarding the instructional program;
  • Develop and implement programs and services that promote student success;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
    Master's Degree, Doctorate degree is highly desirable. The submission of official transcripts of all degree work by the successful candidate is required. Four to ten years related experience in a management- or supervisory-level position within an education department. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must demonstrate ability to effectively supervise a staff and promote teamwork. Must possess the ability and skill to exercise initiative and function successfully as a member of a fast-paced executive management team. Must possess excellent organizational skills, communication, interpersonal relationship and problem-solving skills, and a high capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Must possess experience in student retention, scheduling, and instructional observation, evaluation and training are highly desirable. Director of Students

Description

The Director of Students oversees all non-education programs administered to students, including: student organizations, health services, and social activities. The Director supervises efforts to increase retention and also serves as a counselor and sound board to students in all aspects of their school lives, and assesses students' academic standards in terms of admissibility, academic progress, and graduation requirements. The Director's primary objectives are to ensure that each student adjusts to and thrives within the educational environment, and to facilitate student success.

Responsibilities Include
  • Confer with students to resolve behavioral, academic, and other problems, and to determine priorities for students and their resource needs.
  • Motivate students by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities, internships, and to persevere in challenging classes.
  • Counsel individuals to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their educational or vocational situations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, school policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Provide crisis intervention to students when difficult situations occur at schools.
  • Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
  • Counsel students regarding educational issues, such as, course and program selection, class scheduling and registration, truancy, study habits, and career planning.
  • Coordinate with Dean of Academics and others regarding Scholarship policies and disbursement.
  • Work with the Career Development Department in ensuring students are provided opportunity to develop techniques such as, job search and application strategies, resume writing, and interview skills.
  • Establish and enforce administration policies and rules governing student behavior.
  • Participate in recruitment and enrollment activities.
  • Sponsor extracurricular activities, such as, clubs, organizations, and contests.
  • Supervise, train, and direct professional staff and interns.
  • Establish and supervise peer counseling and peer tutoring programs.
  • Review transcripts to ensure that students meet graduation or college entrance requirements and write letters of recommendation.
  • Determine appropriate accommodations for disabled students.
  • Create, track, and maintain reports on student retention.
  • Chair of the Academic Progress Committee.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

A Master's degree or Ph.D from an accredited college or university and three years of increasingly responsible experience as a Student Services administrator which includes working with Community organizations and/or employers; demonstrated commitment to serving students with diverse backgrounds, interest, goals and abilities; demonstrated competence in planning and evaluation, fiscal and program management; demonstrated effectiveness in leading and motivating staff and students in a collegial shared governance environment; demonstrated commitment to student diversity; successful experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties listed above.

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations
  • Familiarity with ACCSC accrediting standards
  • Effective management and leadership principles
  • Principles of employee supervision and evaluation
  • PC computer platform
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications / CampusVue proficiency a plus

High School Outreach Recruiter

Description

Self-motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual to serve as a full-time Admissions Representative/Recruiter for local high schools. The Admissions Representative/Recruiter will assist in the development and implementation of student recruitment and outreach program designed to meet enrollment goals. The High School Admissions Representative/Recruiter will report directly to the Director of Admissions.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and devise the College's recruitment from local high schools.
  • Conduct calls to prospective students and parents as well as high schools.
  • Set appointments, conduct interviews and enroll students.
  • Advise students and parents of requirements for admission.
  • Create a base of high school student prospects who may be interested in College's Bachelors Degree programs.
  • Program community and student events for the College.
  • Assist in marketing and promotion of the College.
  • Assess, respond, and relate to the needs and concerns of prospective students and parents.
  • Develop constructive relationships with prospective students and their families as well as high school counselors, teachers, principals, alumni, and other constituents.
  • Schedule and document visits to various events, including school sites and community display events, for entire staff.
  • Write and at times present reports pertaining to outreach and recruitment activities.
  • Communicate College's admissions requirements, program offerings, basic financial aid requirements and regulations.
  • Participate in developing departmental goals and expected outcomes as part of institutional effectiveness measures relative to the College's mission, vision and values; and the College-wide student learning outcomes. Monitor progress and report on outcomes.
  • Develop innovative ideas that address the needs of these and other markets to improve recruitment and outreach efforts.
