Computer Information Technology

Computer technology is used in everything around us, and students who can blend hands-on technical skills with strong critical thinking and communication skills will be in demand. Computer Information Technology students are prepared in technology, while receiving a balanced curriculum, which will allow them to develop skills well beyond technology.

The core curriculum is designed to develop the ability to solve a variety of problems through efficient utilization of modern computer concepts and technologies. The Computer Information Technology major covers these seven focus areas: programming, operating systems, database management, systems analysis and design, networking technologies, Internet and intranet technologies, and general education.

Computer Information Technology is the field of study for those who strive to assume a leadership role in computer technology and are interested in the fields of database administration and programming.
